## Biography

Grover Jones (15 November 1893 – 24 September 1940) was an American screenwriter and film director. He wrote or collaborated on more than 100 films between 1920 and his death, often in partnership with William Slavens McNutt. He also published a film journal and wrote short stories.

Jones was born in Rosedale, Indiana, and grew up in West Terre Haute, Indiana. He is credited on films including *Trouble in Paradise* (1932), *If I Had a Million* (1932), *The Lives of a Bengal Lancer* (1935), *Dark Command* (1940) and *The Shepherd of the Hills* (1941). He was the father of polo player Sue Sally Hale.
