## Biography

Guido Alberti (20 April 1909 – 3 August 1996) was an Italian actor. Born in Benevento, he was the son of industrialist Ugo Alberti and served as chairman of the family Strega business from 1957; he founded the Premio Strega literary prize in 1947.

Alberti began acting in 1963 and appeared in around 60 films until 1993. He is known for his role as Pace, the producer, in Federico Fellini’s *8½* (1963), as well as parts in Francesco Rosi’s *Hands Over the City* (1963), Pier Paolo Pasolini’s *The Decameron* (1971) and Roman Polanski’s *What?* (1972). He also worked in television.

In 1953 he married astrologer Lucia Alberti, who died in 1995.
