Guillem Morales likes a room with the door shut. Put a small cast in one location, set the camera near enough to the actors that the lens is almost part of the conversation, light the place the way it would actually be lit, and let the trouble come from a person rather than a ghost. That is the shape of most of what he has directed, in Spanish and in English, and he has been open that television budgets do not change the aim. He also dislikes the conventional flashback and will go a long way round to avoid one, which reads as discipline or as a tic depending on the episode. *The Wasp* puts two actors of that calibre in a psychological thriller, which sounds like the shut door again, at feature length and without Pemberton and Shearsmith to hand him the story.
