## Biography

Gusti Huber was an Austrian-American actress. She trained at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and made her stage debut in Zurich. She appeared in films in Austria and Germany from the mid-1930s, including *Unentschuldigte Stunde* (1937) and *Jenny und der Herr im Frack* (1941), and worked at the Burgtheater in Vienna.

After the Second World War, Huber moved to the United States. She appeared on Broadway in *Flight into Egypt* (1952), as Margot Wendice in *Dial M for Murder* (1952–1954) and as Edith Frank in the original production of *The Diary of Anne Frank* (1955–1957). She reprised the role in the 1959 film adaptation.

Huber retired from acting in 1961. She was the mother of actress Bibi Besch and grandmother of actress Samantha Mathis.
