## Biography

Guy Dufaux is a French-born Canadian cinematographer. Born on 18 July 1943 in Lille, France, he studied fine arts at the École supérieure des beaux-arts de Marseille before immigrating to Canada in 1965 and becoming a Canadian citizen in 1971.

He has worked extensively in Canadian cinema, often collaborating with director Denys Arcand. His credits include cinematography on *The Decline of the American Empire* (1986) and *The Barbarian Invasions* (2003), as well as *Jesus of Montreal* (1989), for which he won a Genie Award, *Léolo* (1992) and *Barney's Version* (2010).

Dufaux has received further recognition including a Gemini Award for the miniseries *Haven* (2001). He is the brother of documentary filmmaker Georges Dufaux and is married to Marie Lahaye.
