Guy Ferland likes to show danger from the position of the person facing it. On *The Walking Dead* (2010), he reveals the zombies’ whereabouts and the available means of fighting them from the hero’s point of view. Guy Ferland (born 18 February 1966) is an American film and television director. He was born in Beverly, Massachusetts, and studied cinema production at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema and Television, graduating in 1988. He began his career as an assistant to director Joel Schumacher on several films, including *The Client* (1994).

Ferland’s early feature films include *The Babysitter* (1995) and *Telling Lies in America* (1997). He later directed the television movies *After the Storm* (2001) and *Bang Bang You’re Dead* (2002), for which he received a Daytime Emmy Award and a Directors Guild of America Award. He is known for his extensive television work, directing episodes of series including *The Shield* (13 episodes, 2002–2008), *House* (2004), *Prison Break* (2005), *The Walking Dead* (2010), *The Vampire Diaries* (2009), *Sons of Anarchy*, *Gotham* (2014) and *Yellowstone* (2018).
