## Biography

Guy Rennie (1910–1979) was an American actor. He graduated from the University of Iowa, where he studied acting, and began his career as a radio broadcaster in Philadelphia. He later gained recognition as a singer and comedian in Morocco and, in the 1930s, co-starred with Josephine Baker at the Parisian club Les Ambassadeurs. He opened his own nightclub in Paris before returning to the United States.

Rennie appeared in films and on television from the 1930s onward, with credits including *Invasion of the Body Snatchers* (1956) as the Restaurant Owner, *The Bellboy* (1960) as Mr. Carter, and *Lenny* (1974) as Jack Goldstein. He also performed on Broadway, including a replacement role in the original production of *Oklahoma!*. From the 1940s he was based primarily in Miami Beach, where he performed in nightclubs with his wife, Vivian Rennie, and maintained a second home in Los Angeles for acting work.
