Gwen Arner is an American television and stage director, and occasional actress. Born on 23 November 1932 in McCook, Nebraska, and raised in Omaha, she studied theatre at the University of Michigan, earning bachelor's and master's degrees.

She co-founded the Los Angeles Actors' Theatre and directed stage productions there and at the Mark Taper Forum. Arner began directing for television in the 1970s and is credited with episodes of series including *The Waltons*, *The Bionic Woman*, *Dallas*, *Falcon Crest*, *Dynasty*, *Law & Order* (1991), *Beverly Hills, 90210*, *Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman*, and *Homicide: Life on the Street* (1996). She was married to actor Donald Moffat from 1970 until his death in 2018.
