Born on 25 January 1985 in Tucson, Arizona, he trained at the University of Arizona, where he appeared in student productions and received the Jack Wagner Showcase Award, which led to an early role on the soap opera *The Bold and the Beautiful*.

He later studied improv at The Groundlings and joined its Main Company. Croner is known for his recurring role as Josh in the Comedy Central series *Review* (2014–2017) and for voice work including J.P. Mercer in *Craig of the Creek* (2018–2025) and Barry Buns in *Kiff* (2023–).
