## Biography

Hal Lieberman is an American film producer and former president of production at Universal Pictures.

He began his career as a production assistant on Warren Beatty's *Heaven Can Wait* (1978) and worked as a screenwriter for eight years. He later joined Blum/Ganz Productions and moved to Universal Pictures in 1987, rising to president of production in 1994. In that role he oversaw development on films including *Apollo 13*, *The Nutty Professor*, *Liar Liar*, *Fried Green Tomatoes* and *Happy Gilmore*.

As a producer his credits include *Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines* (2003), *Around the World in 80 Days* (2004), *Bridge to Terabithia* (2007), *Vacancy* (2007), *Vacancy 2: The First Cut* (2008) and *House at the End of the Street* (2012). He served as executive producer on *The Jackal* (1997) and *U-571* (2000). He was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2008.
