Hannes Nikel, also credited as Johannes Nikel, was a German film editor. Born on 13 April 1931 in Munich, he died there on 26 September 2001.

He is best known for editing *Das Boot* (1981), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Film Editing. He also edited *Stalingrad* (1993), for which he won a Bavarian Film Award, as well as *Enemy Mine* (1985) and *Shattered* (1991). Nikel frequently collaborated with director Wolfgang Petersen, serving as second unit director on *Das Boot*, *The NeverEnding Story* (1984) and *Enemy Mine*. His earlier credits include assistant editing on *Lola Montès* (1955) and extensive work in German television.
