## Biography

Hansjörg Weißbrich is a German film editor. Born on 6 February 1967 in Siegen, he studied music, French literature, theatre, film and television studies in Dortmund and Bochum. He began as an assistant editor and has worked as a freelance editor since 1995.

Weißbrich has edited more than sixty films and series. He has collaborated repeatedly with directors including Hans-Christian Schmid and Maria Schrader. His credits include *Night Train to Lisbon* (2013), *Colonia* (2016), *7500* (2019), the series *Unorthodox* (2020), *I'm Your Man* (2021), *She Said* (2022) and *September 5* (2024).

He has received several awards, including the Deutscher Filmpreis for best editing for *Sturm* (2010) and *Zwei Leben* (2014), as well as the Deutscher Fernsehpreis. Weißbrich is a member of the Deutsche Filmakademie and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
