## Biography

Harold D. Schuster (also credited as Harold Schuster and Charles Fuhr) was an American film editor and director. Born in Cherokee, Iowa, he began in films as an actor and assistant cameraman before becoming an editor. He edited F. W. Murnau's *Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans* (1927).

Schuster made his directorial debut with *Wings of the Morning* (1937), the first three-strip Technicolor feature shot in Europe. Among his feature films are *My Friend Flicka* (1943), *So Dear to My Heart* (1948), *Loophole* (1954) and *Dragoon Wells Massacre* (1957). He later directed episodes of television series including *Death Valley Days*, *Lassie* and *The Twilight Zone*, retiring in the 1960s.
