## Biography

Harold Kasket (1926–2002) was an English character actor who worked in theatre, film and television from the late 1940s. He was born in London and often played Arabs or mainland European types.

His stage credits included appearances with Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh in the 1951 Broadway production of *Caesar and Cleopatra*, and the role of Uncle Ben opposite Warren Mitchell in a 1979 National Theatre production of *Death of a Salesman*. On screen he appeared in *Moulin Rouge* (1952) as Charles Zidler, *The 7th Voyage of Sinbad* (1958) as the Sultan, and later Pink Panther films as President Sandover Haleesh.

Kasket’s final screen role was in the television miniseries *War and Remembrance* (1988). He was married to Esther Laredo.
