## Biography

Harold Warrender (1903–1953) was a British stage, film and television actor and radio presenter. Born Harold John Warrender in London on 15 November 1903, he was the son of Sir George Warrender, 7th Baronet, and Lady Ethel Maud Ashley Cooper. He began his professional career on the West End stage in 1928 and remained active until his death.

Warrender appeared in films including *Scott of the Antarctic* (1948) as Dr E. A. Wilson, *Pandora and the Flying Dutchman* (1951) as Geoffrey Fielding, and *Ivanhoe* (1952) as Locksley. He gained popularity in the 1940s as host of the quiz segment 'Double or Quits' on the BBC radio variety show *Merry-Go-Round*. In 1942 he married Constance Elizabeth Fowles; they had no children. He died on 6 May 1953 at his home in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire.
