## Biography

Harry Bugin (10 March 1929 – 6 October 2005) was an American actor and musician. Born in the Bronx, New York City, he graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and began his career as a professional musician, playing string bass and bass guitar with big bands including those led by Tex Beneke, Ray McKinley, Vaughn Monroe and Sammy Kaye between 1947 and 1970.

He appeared in numerous films and television productions, often in supporting roles. Bugin is known for his work in several Coen brothers films, including *Barton Fink* (1991) as Pete, *The Hudsucker Proxy* (1994) as Aloysius, and *The Big Lebowski* (1998) as Arthur Digby Sellers. Other credits include *City Hall* (1996) as Morty the Waiter and *Game 6* (2005) as Dodgie. His stage work included the 1974 production of *Twigs* and a production of *12 Angry Men*.
