## Biography

Harry Chandlee (1882–1956) was an American screenwriter, film editor and occasional producer. His career in film began in the silent era and continued into the 1940s.

He received a screenplay credit on the 1940 adaptation of *Our Town*. Other writing credits include the story for *Platinum Blonde* (1931) and the original screenplay for *Sergeant York* (1941), for which he shared an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. He also worked as an editor on several British productions in the late 1920s, including *Moulin Rouge* (1928) and *The Woman in White* (1929).
