## Biography

Harry Harvey Jr. (1929–1978) was an American actor, director and script supervisor. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, he was the son of character actor Harry Harvey. He began his career as a child performer in the Our Gang series and appeared in films including *Tell Your Children* (1936) and *A Tree Grows in Brooklyn* (1945).

Harvey is best known for playing Crewman Randall in the science fiction film *Forbidden Planet* (1956). His other acting credits include uncredited roles in *Spartacus* (1960) and *Operation Petticoat* (1959), and guest appearances in numerous Western television series of the 1950s and 1960s.

Later in his career he worked as a script supervisor on 161 episodes of the series *Mannix* (1967–1975) and directed several episodes of that programme and others, including *Bearcats!* (1971). He died in Panorama City, California.
