## Biography

Harry Hickox (1910–1994) was an American character actor. Born in Big Spring, Texas, he began his career as a musician, playing guitar with jazz bands, before working in stock theatre and radio.

In the early 1960s he appeared in touring productions of *The Music Man*, including as understudy to Harold Hill, and played Charlie Cowell in the 1962 film adaptation. His other screen credits include *The Ghost and Mr. Chicken* (1966), *Cheyenne Autumn* (1964) and television appearances in series such as *Columbo* (1971), *Kojak* (1973), *The Six Million Dollar Man* (1974) and *Perry Mason* (1957).

Hickox died in Los Angeles on 3 June 1994.
