## Biography

Harry Jackson (15 April 1896 – 3 August 1953) was an American cinematographer. Born in Nebraska, he began his career in Hollywood as a still photographer for Warner Brothers before working as a cinematographer from the end of the silent era in 1927 until his death.

He shot around 75 films, with credits including director of photography on *Mother Wore Tights* (1947), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Colour Cinematography, *Anne of the Indies* (1951), *Halls of Montezuma* (1951) and *The Band Wagon* (1953). He also contributed camera work on *Lifeboat* (1944).
