## Biography

Harry Revel (21 December 1905 – 3 November 1958) was a British-born American composer of musical theatre and film scores. Born Harry Glaser in London, he studied at the Guildhall School of Music before emigrating to the United States in 1929.

He collaborated frequently with lyricist Mack Gordon, contributing songs to Broadway productions including the *Ziegfeld Follies of 1931*. In Hollywood from the early 1930s, Revel wrote music for numerous films, among them *The Gay Divorcee* (1934). He later worked with other lyricists including Mort Greene and Paul Francis Webster, and received Academy Award nominations for his scores. Revel died in New York City.
