## Biography

Harry Stockwell (1902–1984) was an American actor and singer. He made his Broadway debut in 1929 in *Broadway Nights* and appeared in revues including *Earl Carroll's Vanities* and *As Thousands Cheer*. His film debut came in the 1935 musical *Here Comes the Band*.

Stockwell achieved wider recognition for providing the singing voice of the Prince in Walt Disney’s *Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs* (1937). On stage, he succeeded Alfred Drake as Curly in the original Broadway production of *Oklahoma!*, performing the role from 1943 until 1948. His final screen appearance was in *The Werewolf of Washington* (1973).

He was the father of actors Dean Stockwell and Guy Stockwell with his first wife, Elizabeth Veronica.
