## Biography

Harve Brosten (born 15 May 1943) is an American screenwriter. He was born in Chicago, Illinois.

Brosten wrote three episodes of the CBS sitcom *All in the Family* between 1974 and 1977, including 'Where's Archie?', 'Edith's Friend' and 'Cousin Liz'. He shared a 1978 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for the latter episode, written with Barry Harman, Bob Schiller and Bob Weiskopf. He also contributed to the premiere episode of the spin-off series *The Jeffersons* in 1975.

He maintained a long-term creative partnership with Harman. Earlier credits include assistant roles on the films *The Anderson Tapes* (1971) and *Shamus* (1973). He co-produced the Broadway musical *Romance/Romance* (1988), which received a Tony Award nomination for Best Musical.
