## Biography

Harvey F. Thew was an American screenwriter. Born in Vernon Center, Minnesota, he began writing scenarios and adaptations for film in 1916, initially with the Lasky company. He worked primarily with Warner Bros. in the late 1920s and early 1930s, often as part of a writing team on adaptations, before freelancing for studios including RKO, MGM and Paramount.

His credits include the adaptation for *The Public Enemy* (1931) and the screenplay, co-written with John Bright, for *She Done Him Wrong* (1933). He also contributed to *The Count of Monte Cristo* (1934) and later films such as *The Trail of the Lonesome Pine* (1936). Thew died in Los Angeles in 1946.
