Harvey S. Laidman was an American television director. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in cinema in 1964. He began his career as an assistant director and production manager before directing his first episode of *The Waltons* in 1975.

Laidman directed episodes of numerous series, including *Kojak* (1973), *Hawaii Five-O* (1968), *The Dukes of Hazzard* (1979), *Magnum, P.I.* (1980), *Knight Rider* (1982), *Airwolf* (1984), *Matlock* (1986), *Quantum Leap* (1989) and *7th Heaven* (1996). He helmed 33 episodes of *Matlock*, 16 of *7th Heaven* and 11 of *The Waltons*.
