Hassan Tantai is an actor. He played the role of Tabib Sahid in the 2001 Iranian film *Kandahar*, directed by Mohsen Makhmalbaf.

He has also appeared as himself in the documentaries *Salam Iran: A Persian Letter* (2002) and *American Fugitive: The Truth About Hassan* (2006).

Born David Theodore Belfield on 10 November 1950 in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, USA, he has lived in Tehran, Iran, and is also known by the names Dawud Salahuddin and Hassan Abdulrahman.
