## Biography

Hattie Hayridge is a British comedian and actress. She began performing stand-up comedy in 1986 after a spontaneous gig in a London club and became part of the late-1980s and early-1990s alternative comedy scene on the British circuit. In 1987 she was runner-up for the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year award.

In 1988 she appeared on *Friday Night Live* and was cast as Hilly, the female version of the ship's computer Holly, in the *Red Dwarf* episode "Parallel Universe". After Norman Lovett left the series, Hayridge took over the role of Holly for series III, IV and V (1989–1992). She has also appeared in *Jonathan Creek* (2000) as Lizzie Gillespie, *Lexx* (2001) as Sub-Warden Heidi, and the film *SuperBob* (2015) as the Pram Woman.

Hayridge has performed stand-up on television shows including *Have I Got News for You* and at festivals such as Just for Laughs in Montreal. She published the autobiography *Random Abstract Memory* in 1997.
