Heavy D, born Dwight Errington Myers, was a Jamaican American rapper, singer and actor. He led the hip hop group Heavy D & the Boyz, which released several albums in the 1980s and 1990s. He later pursued solo work and acting.

His film roles include Peaches in *The Cider House Rules* (1999), Omar in *Step Up* (2006) and a courthouse guard in *Tower Heist* (2011). Television credits encompass appearances in *The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air* (1990), *Law & Order: Special Victims Unit* (1999), *Bones* (2005) and *Life* (1999). He died in 2011.
