## Biography

Héctor R. Figueroa was a cinematographer active in film and television for more than four decades. Born in Los Angeles on 4 January 1934, he began in the industry as a grip and advanced to director of photography. He was one of the first to use the Steadicam professionally.

Figueroa served as director of photography on the series *Cagney & Lacey* (1982) and *ER* (1994). His other television credits included *The Greatest American Hero*, *Night Court* and *Jake and the Fatman*. He also shot numerous television movies and miniseries. Figueroa died in Los Angeles on 26 December 2012.
