Heinz Hoenig is a German actor. He was born on 24 September 1951 in Landsberg am Lech.

He made his film debut in the mid-1970s and achieved his breakthrough as Funkmaat Hinrich in Wolfgang Petersen's *Das Boot* (1981). He has since appeared in over 140 film and television productions, including multiple collaborations with director Dieter Wedel on the miniseries *Der große Bellheim* (1993), *Der Schattenmann* (1995) and *Der König von St. Pauli* (1998). Other credits include the *7 Zwerge* films (2004, 2006) and episodes of *Tatort*.

Hoenig began his career in theatre after training in the United States and previously worked in various trades including as a locksmith and streetworker.
