Helen Jerome Eddy was an American actress who appeared in films from 1915 to 1947. She began her career with the Lubin studio and later worked at Paramount Pictures, initially playing leading roles in silent films before transitioning to character parts in sound pictures.

Eddy was born in New York City in 1897 and raised in Los Angeles, where she performed at the Pasadena Playhouse as a youth. She is noted for genteel heroine roles in silents such as *Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm* (1917) and supporting parts in later films including *The Bitter Tea of General Yen* (1933) as Miss Reed, *Show Boat* (1936) and *The Secret Life of Walter Mitty* (1947).
