## Biography

Helen Raynor is a Welsh television screenwriter and script editor. Born in Swansea in March 1972, she studied at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, and worked for nearly a decade as a theatre director before moving into television.

She began as a script editor on the BBC soap *Doctors* (2002–2004) and joined the production of the revived *Doctor Who* (2005) as script editor, later writing the two-part stories "Daleks in Manhattan" / "Evolution of the Daleks" (2007) and "The Sontaran Stratagem" / "The Poison Sky" (2008). She also wrote episodes of its spin-off *Torchwood* (2006), including "Ghost Machine" (2006) and "To the Last Man" (2008).

Raynor co-created the BBC Wales drama series *Baker Boys* (2011) with her partner Gary Owen. Her other writing credits include episodes of *Primeval* (2007), *Mr Selfridge* (2013), *Call the Midwife* (2012), *A Discovery of Witches* (2018) and *All Creatures Great & Small* (2020).
