Born in Aix-en-Provence, he trained at the Conservatoire de Toulouse before moving to Paris in the late 1920s, where he began a long stage career that spanned five decades and included work with directors Charles Dullin and Patrice Chéreau. He appeared in more than seventy films between 1931 and 1976, often in supporting roles in French productions. Early credits include *La Chienne* (1931) and *The Crime of Monsieur Lange* (1936). Later roles encompass *Bizarre, Bizarre* (1937), *Lola Montès* (1955) as Horseman Maurice, and *The Count of Monte Cristo* (1961) as L'abbé Faria. He also worked in television from the late 1950s to 1980. Guisol was married to actress Marthe Alycia.
