## Biography

Henri Poirier (1932–2005) was a French actor and voice actor. Born in Colombes, Hauts-de-Seine, he trained at the Conservatoire de Paris from the age of 17 and graduated as a laureate. He began his career in theatre, radio and television, and founded his own company, Théâtre 12, in 1972.

Poirier appeared in around sixty stage productions, creating roles in plays by Jean Anouilh and performing with the company of Jean-Louis Barrault. On screen he is credited in films including *Murmur of the Heart* (1971) as Uncle Léonce and several Asterix features, voicing Abraracourcix in *Asterix in Britain* (1986) and *Asterix and the Big Fight* (1989). He was also active as a dubbing artist.
