## Biography

Henry Garson (1912–2003) was an American screenwriter, producer and playwright. Born in New York City, he began his career performing in musical groups and Broadway shows before moving into writing. He spent seven years scripting comedy for the radio series *Junior Miss* and later contributed to television programmes including *Family Affair* (1966–1971), where he also produced episodes, *My Three Sons*, *The Lucy Show*, *All in the Family* and *Columbo*.

His film screenplays include *The Reckless Moment* (1949), *Don't Give Up the Ship* (1959), *G.I. Blues* (1960) and *Visit to a Small Planet* (1960). He co-wrote the 1952 Broadway play *In Any Language* with Edmund Beloin. Garson received a Writers Guild of America nomination and died in Woodland Hills, California.
