## Biography

Henry Richardson (1936–2017) was an English film editor. Born in London, he entered the film industry after leaving school and began as a second assistant editor on *The Story of Robin Hood and His Merrie Men* (1952). He went on to edit approximately 57 feature films across more than six decades, working in Britain, the United States and elsewhere.

Richardson edited the James Bond film *Octopussy* (1983) and served as additional editor on *A View to a Kill* (1985). He collaborated on five films with director Andrei Konchalovsky, including *Runaway Train* (1985), which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Film Editing. Other credits include *The Thirteenth Floor* (1999), *Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie* (1997) and *The Valley of Gwangi* (1969).

He was a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the American Cinema Editors.
