## Biography

Henry Sharp was an American cinematographer who worked in Hollywood from the silent era through the 1950s. He joined the American Society of Cinematographers in 1922 and accumulated more than 100 film and television credits.

He began his career as an assistant cinematographer and laboratory worker before becoming a director of photography. Sharp collaborated with Douglas Fairbanks on silent films including *Don Q Son of Zorro* (1925), *The Black Pirate* (1926) and *The Iron Mask* (1929). He also photographed *The Crowd* (1928) and *Duck Soup* (1933).

His later credits include *It's a Gift* (1934), *Ministry of Fear* (1944) and *It Happened on Fifth Avenue* (1947). He was born on 13 May 1892 and died on 6 August 1966.
