Henry Simmons is an American actor. He was born on 1 July 1970 in Stamford, Connecticut, and studied at Franklin Pierce University before moving to New York City to pursue acting.

He began his career with guest roles and a regular part as Tyrone Montgomery on the soap opera *Another World* (1997–1999). Simmons played Detective Baldwin Jones on the police drama *NYPD Blue* from 2000 to 2005.

He is also known for portraying Alphonso 'Mack' Mackenzie on *Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.* (2014–2020). His film credits include *Taxi* (2004) and *No Good Deed* (2014). Simmons won the Grand Jury Award for Best Actor at the American Black Film Festival for *South of Pico* (2007). He has been married to actress Sophina Brown since 2010.
