## Biography

Henry Woolf (20 January 1930 – 11 November 2021) was a British actor, theatre director and teacher. Born in Homerton, London, he appeared in films including *The Lion in Winter* (1968) as a strolling player, *The Rocky Horror Picture Show* (1975), *Superman III* (1983) and *Gorky Park* (1983).

A longtime friend and collaborator of Harold Pinter, Woolf originated a role in Pinter’s first play *The Room* (1957) and stimulated its writing. He worked extensively in British theatre, film and television, with television credits including the Collector in the *Doctor Who* serial *The Sun Makers* (1977).

Woolf moved to Canada in the late 1970s. From 1983 he taught at the University of Saskatchewan and served as artistic director of Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan from 1991 to 2001. He was married to actress and director Susan Williamson from 1968.
