## Biography

Herbert Bunston (15 April 1874 – 27 February 1935) was an English stage and screen actor. He appeared in British theatre from the late 1890s before emigrating to the United States in 1922. His Broadway credits included *The Enchanted Cottage* (1923), *Young Woodley* (1925) and *Dracula* (1927), in which he played Dr John Seward.

Bunston's stage work led to a contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Between 1929 and 1935 he appeared in more than thirty films, often in supporting character roles. He reprised the part of Dr Seward in the 1931 film adaptation of *Dracula* and played the Minister in *Smilin' Through* (1932). Other screen credits include a role in *Les Misérables* (1935).
