Herbert Kenwith (14 July 1917 – 30 January 2008) was an American television director, producer and writer. Born in New Jersey, he began his career as an actor on Broadway, appearing in productions including *I Remember Mama* alongside Marlon Brando. He later worked as a theatre producer and director, notably as Broadway’s youngest producer of *Me and Molly*, and spent six years directing dozens of plays at Princeton University’s McCarter Theatre.

Kenwith moved into television in the 1950s, directing daytime soap operas such as the first episode of *The Young and the Restless*. He directed episodes of numerous series, including one episode of *Star Trek* in 1969, and worked extensively with Norman Lear on sitcoms such as *Sanford and Son* (1972), *Good Times* (1974), *The Mary Tyler Moore Show* (1970), *Diff'rent Strokes* (1978), *One Day at a Time* (1975) and *Bosom Buddies* (1980).
