## Biography

Herbert Brough Falcon Marshall (23 May 1890 – 22 January 1966) was an English stage, film and radio actor. He began his career on the London stage after training as an accountant and appeared in numerous West End productions before moving into films. He served in the First World War, during which he lost a leg.

Marshall became a leading man in Hollywood romantic dramas and comedies of the 1930s and 1940s, appearing in films including *Trouble in Paradise* (1932), *The Letter* (1940) as Robert Crosbie and *Foreign Correspondent* (1940) as Stephen Fisher. He later took character roles in pictures such as *The Little Foxes* (1941) and *The Fly* (1958). He also starred in the radio series *The Man Called 'X'* and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960.
