## Biography

Herbert J. Wright was an American television writer, producer and director. He wrote or co-wrote four episodes of the series *Star Trek: The Next Generation* (1987), including the teleplays for "The Last Outpost" and "The Battle", the story for "Heart of Glory", and the teleplay for "Power Play". He served as co-producer on the first season and as producer on several fifth-season episodes.

Wright also wrote episodes of *Hunter* (1984) and other series including *War of the Worlds* (1988), *Stingray* (1986) and *Cadillacs and Dinosaurs* (1993). He graduated with honours from Yale in 1969 and had earlier studied in Japan as an exchange student. He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award.
