## Biography

Herschel Daugherty was an American television and film director and occasional actor. Born on 27 October 1910 in Clarks Hill, Indiana, he graduated from Whittier College in 1934 and received a scholarship to the Pasadena Playhouse School of the Theater, where he later served as an associate director.

Daugherty began his career as a dialogue director at Warner Brothers in 1942. He transitioned to television directing in the early 1950s and directed episodes of numerous series, including *Alfred Hitchcock Presents*, *General Electric Theater*, *Star Trek* (two episodes, 1967–1969), *Mission: Impossible* (one episode, 1967), *The Man from U.N.C.L.E.*, *Hawaii Five-O*, *Bonanza* and *The Six Million Dollar Man*. In 1957 he shared a Directors Guild of America Award for his work on *General Electric Theater*. He died on 5 March 1993 in Encinitas, California.
