Howard Berk was an American television and film writer. Born in Brookline, Massachusetts, on 22 July 1924, he died in Los Angeles on 27 March 2016.

He wrote episodes for *Mission: Impossible* (four episodes, 1969–1972), *Columbo* (two episodes, 1974–1978), *The Rockford Files*, *McMillan & Wife* and other series. He also wrote the screenplay for the 1985 feature *Target*, directed by Arthur Penn and starring Gene Hackman.

Berk studied journalism at the University of Georgia, where he later served as Distinguished Writer in Residence. Earlier in his career he worked as a reporter, including for *The Havana Herald* in Cuba, and he published four novels.
