## Biography

Howard J. Green was an American screenwriter. Born in San Francisco in 1893, he worked as a journalist before entering the film industry in the late 1920s.

His credits include the scenario for *The Kid Brother* (1927) and the screenplay for *I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang* (1932). He also contributed to *Morning Glory* (1933) and wrote more than sixty films in total. Green served as the first president of the Screen Writers Guild.

From 1951 he wrote episodes for numerous television series. He died in Los Angeles in 1965.
