## Biography

Howard Schwartz (1919–1990) was an American cinematographer. Born in El Paso, Texas, he began working in the camera department in the 1940s and became a director of photography on feature films and television series.

He served as director of photography on the 1966 feature film *Batman*. His other credits include *Futureworld* (1976), *The Devil and Max Devlin* (1981) and episodes of the television series *Land of the Giants* (1968–1969) and *Airwolf* (1984–1986). A member of the American Society of Cinematographers since 1963, he received two Primetime Emmy Awards.
