## Biography

Hugh O'Brian was an American actor. Born Hugh Charles Krampe on 19 April 1925 in Rochester, New York, he appeared in films and on television from the late 1940s until 2000.

He starred as the title character in the ABC Western series *The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp* (1955–1961) and in the NBC series *Search* (1972–1973). His film credits include *Ten Little Indians* (1965), *The Shootist* (1976) and *Twins* (1988), in which he played Granger. He also appeared in *Game of Death* (1978).

In 1958 O'Brian founded the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Foundation (HOBY). He died on 5 September 2016 in Beverly Hills, California.
