## Biography

Hugh O'Conor is an Irish actor, writer and director. Born on 19 April 1975 in Dublin, he began acting as a child and made his film debut in *Lamb* (1985) opposite Liam Neeson.

He is known for his role as Young Christy Brown in *My Left Foot* (1989), for which he won a Young Artist Award, as King Louis XIII in *The Three Musketeers* (1993), and as Father Henri in *Chocolat* (2000). The latter earned the cast a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

O'Conor has also appeared in *Pilgrimage* (2017) and *Handsome Devil* (2017), and was listed at number 49 on The Irish Times' 2020 ranking of Ireland's greatest film actors. He studied at the Samuel Beckett Centre at Trinity College Dublin.
