## Biography

Ian Buchanan is a Scottish actor born on 16 June 1957 in Hamilton, Lanarkshire. He trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York and with Marcia Haufrecht.

He began his career in American daytime television, playing Duke Lavery on General Hospital from 1986 to 1989, with later returns to the role. He portrayed Dr James Warwick on The Bold and the Beautiful from 1993 to 1999, appearing again in subsequent years. Buchanan is also known for playing Dick Tremayne in the second season of Twin Peaks (1990–1991) and Evan Kurlander in the 2002 film Panic Room.

He received a Daytime Emmy Award for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series in 1997 for his work on The Bold and the Beautiful.
